La Dolphin 9500 esta basada en una arquitectura de alta tecnologia, integrada con Microsoft Windows Mobile, procesador Intel XScale, y con Red inalambrica de area completa (WFAN) con colocacion 802.11b, GSM/GPRS, y radio Bluetooth que provee voz, datos en tiempo real o para la adquisicion de informacion, a cualquier hora y en cualquier lugar.

La alta capacidad de las baterias Litio-Ion permiten a las computadoras moviles operar de forma inalambrica por largos periodos, para ambientes de coleccion de datos intensivos. Creado por Hand Held Products la exclusiva tecnologia Adaptus Imaging, el HHP Dolphin 9500 puede ser utilizado por los trabajadores para leer rapida y virtualmente todos los codigos de barras, tomar fotos, capturar firmas, y almacenar, usar la informacion en forma rapida y eficaz.
